| Info... |
This is the opening sequence to the 2000 bishoujo game Canvas ~Sepia Motif~. If you like this, you can check out the 2-part H OVA that was subbed by AnimeForce. Keep in mind that the H OVA doesn't represent the story of the game too accurately.
Getchu has given "the best game" award to this game. "the best game" is only awarded to games which they think are really good. English localizers, are you listening? |
| Story... |
After we completed My fair Angel Op, madgat sent me various 2-minute raws of stuff that we could fansub. We decided to this one over the rest because we found the official lyrics for it. Work started on November 22, but it was held off for some time while the first incarnation of our web site was being built.
Since Bishoujo-Fansubs was busy winning an audience with their DVD fansubs of To Heart, we had to finish this project up by ourselves. This meant that anrp couldn't do his typesetting magic on this baby. After some timing advice from kevind and some typesetting help from roxfan (Solar Fansubs), the finalized script was done in the late hours of December 15. It was then encoded a couple of hours later by Landcaster, a regular in #bishoujo-fansubs. He turned out to be our encoder for everything from then on, and he's still part of the team today.
Minutes after the encode was approved, it was released on IRC in #bishoujo-fansubs via my 44kB/sec fserv. Hours later, madgat uploaded it to the newsgroups. This was NNL's first solo release. |

| Just a flat out TL with almost nothing else added. The raw was 15 fps to begin with, making scrolls and the karaoke seem chunky. This fansub is almost forgettable. |
| Feedback... |
"I downloaded the opening to the Canvas game and it's nice. The song is beautiful (I like songs with bells like the Escaflowne opening, Shamanic Princess opening and the Utena second closing). The visuals are good too."

| Side notes... |
- The song? Autumn Destiny, sung by Miyuki Kunitake.
- I started to typeset this, but around 30 seconds into it, I said "forget it" and figured it would be fine without any lame effects. That's why you see some effects in the beginning, but nothing later into the song.
