Info...

This is the in-game cutscene to the April 2002 bishoujo game Wind -a breath of heart-. It's more of Shinkai Makoto's very fine work. Encoded from the DVD source contained in Soyokaze No Okurimono for even better picture quality than the game version!

There are two versions of this opening. The original version uses the intended game music. The official filename makes it seem like this is a second opening, but after having gone through the game, we assure you it's not.

Story...

So how come this took over half a year to complete? Well, it all starts way back after My fair Angel Op was released. We decided to do the 'other' clip of Wind, and the natives started to work! The raw we used at the time was encoded in 15fps Indeo. minori probably chose it because it can run on low-end computers, but the quality wasnt up to snuff. So anrp, the encoder at that time, spent a good amount of time trying to clean it up. Our script was done at the end of November, and we sent it off to anrp to make it look schnozzpoppin'.

And we waited.

And we waited.

And we waited.

And we waited some more.

And 2003 arrived.

I guess it was kinda our fault too for not poking at anrp with t3h pokey stick enough times. But you know what? It all turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the Soyokaze no Okurimono DVD contained a better quality copy of the clip.

Due to anrp being on temporary dial-up, Landcaster took over the encoding job. A final QC took place over three days because I wanted to do a re-edit, and it all came through in the end! As for the feedback? This was B-F's only release that wasn't publicized through its own channel. Therefore, it's not officially a joint effort. Oh well.

Qualitative rating - 6

This suffers for the same reasons that My fair Angel Op had. Plus, gp32 (insani) has re-translated this cutscene for the full game. He had different interpretations for some of the lines. When it comes out, this version will be obsolete.

Feedback...
None so far.

Side notes...
  • This clip plays once you have finished the linear part of the game. That's right, the first half of the game is uniform and all decisions made before this clip plays will have no impact on your ending. So it's best to save after this. ^_^
  • The song? Dream, arranged by Tenmon and sung by Megumi Hasegawa.
